Millcreek Township School District is seeking a Boys Water Polo Assistant Coach for its program in Erie, Erie County. This part-time position offers the opportunity to mentor student athletes and support a dedicated aquatics coaching staff.
About the Role
As Assistant Coach for the boys water polo team based at the McDowell South location, you'll work alongside the head coach to develop athletes' technical skills, game strategy, and competitive readiness. This part-time role combines practice leadership, game-day support, and direct athlete instruction for a competitive high school water polo program.
What You'll Do
- Lead and assist with practice sessions covering skill development, conditioning, and tactical training
- Help prepare athletes for competition through focused drills and strategy work
- Provide individualized coaching feedback to student-athletes
- Support the head coach with game-day operations and match logistics
- Maintain facility readiness and equipment standards
- Contribute to a positive team environment that prioritizes athlete safety and academic accountability
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in competitive water polo or coaching settings
- Solid understanding of water polo fundamentals, rules, and strategy
- Current or obtainable First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities
- Dedication to student-athlete development, safety, and achievement
- Ability to commit reliably to practices and competitions with scheduling flexibility
