About the Role

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan's premier, state-funded preschool initiative designed to provide 4-year-olds with the foundation needed for school success. As an Associate Teacher, you'll work collaboratively within a classroom centered on play-based learning, supporting the development of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills in a nurturing, intentional environment.

What You'll Do

• Partner with the Lead Teacher to plan, set up, and facilitate engaging daily lessons and learning activities
• Observe and document individual child progress, development, and learning behaviors
• Support classroom routines including transitions, meals, and outdoor play
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where all children feel valued
• Communicate regularly with families about their child's experiences and development
• Maintain classroom materials, equipment, and learning spaces
• Participate in professional development and team meetings

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED (some positions may require or prefer college coursework in early childhood education)
• Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team
• Commitment to maintaining a positive, patient, and respectful approach with children and families
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for a dynamic, play-based learning environment
