Lead Teacher

Learning Care Group is seeking a Lead Teacher for our center in Dominion Park, Onondaga County. This full-time position is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator passionate about fostering curiosity, growth, and joy in young learners while developing and supporting the teaching team.

Role Overview

As a Lead Teacher at Learning Care Group, you are more than a classroom educator—you are a mentor, innovator, and advocate for child development. This role combines direct work with children at our Dominion Park center with mentorship responsibilities for assistant teachers and classroom aides. You'll design engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that spark intellectual growth and emotional development, while cultivating a classroom culture where every child feels valued and supported.

Core Duties

• Plan and facilitate interactive, age-appropriate learning activities that meet developmental milestones and early learning standards
• Mentor and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides in best practices, classroom management, and child-centered approaches
• Observe and document individual child progress, sharing meaningful insights with families through regular communication and developmental assessments
• Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles
• Collaborate with center leadership to implement policies, maintain health and safety standards, and support program goals
• Build positive partnerships with families, addressing concerns and celebrating developmental milestones together

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent early childhood certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a classroom or child care setting
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor team members effectively
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage meaningfully with both children and families
• Genuine passion for supporting child development and inspiring lifelong learners
• Ability to maintain patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism in a dynamic environment
