About the Role

As Lead Teacher at Childtime of Kennesaw, you'll serve as the primary instructor in your classroom while supporting the professional growth of your teaching team. You'll design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, manage classroom operations, and create an environment where young learners develop confidence, curiosity, and strong social-emotional foundations. This full-time position offers direct leadership of your classroom and the opportunity to mentor less experienced teachers.

What You'll Do

• Design and lead engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that integrate academic, creative, and physical learning activities
• Build a safe, welcoming classroom community that encourages exploration, discovery, and skill mastery
• Mentor and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides in instructional practices and child development strategies
• Assess children's progress and learning needs, adjusting activities to support individual development
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding their child's achievements, milestones, and classroom experiences
• Ensure classroom compliance with state licensing requirements, safety standards, and documentation practices
• Partner with center leadership on curriculum excellence and program quality improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; child development associate (CDA) or bachelor's degree in early childhood education preferred
• Two or more years of hands-on experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting
• Current or willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with families and colleagues
• Genuine commitment to early childhood development and child-centered teaching practices
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and responsive in a dynamic classroom environment
• Successful background check and professional references required
