Camp Counselor-Summer Migrant Program

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a full-time Camp Counselor to join our Summer Migrant Program and work directly with school-age children from migrant families across the state. This role combines meaningful youth development work with a commitment to providing quality, supportive childcare during critical summer months.

About the Role

Working under the direction of our Executive Director, you'll be central to operating a high-quality school-age childcare program designed specifically for the Summer Migrant Education Program. Your daily work ensures every child receives safe, enriching care that meets Delaware's state licensing standards while creating a positive, welcoming community for families navigating the unique demands of agricultural work.

What You'll Do

• Directly supervise and engage with school-age children throughout the summer program day
• Create and facilitate age-appropriate activities that combine recreation, learning, and skill-building
• Maintain program spaces and materials in full compliance with Delaware childcare regulations
• Model positive behavior, foster inclusion, and support children's emotional and social development
• Communicate regularly with families and team members about each child's progress and well-being
• Document attendance and activity participation to support program evaluation and reporting

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience working with school-age children in childcare, camp, or educational settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with both children and families
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Delaware state childcare licensing requirements
• Genuine enthusiasm for youth development and commitment to equity-centered programming
• Dependable, responsible work ethic and ability to work within a team structure
• Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
