The Student Council Sponsor role is an essential leadership position combining advisorship, mentorship, and administrative guidance for a high school's student government organization. You'll work alongside elected student leaders to plan activities, manage budgets, coordinate events, and ensure the student council operates effectively while maintaining school policies and district guidelines. This is a chance to directly shape student leadership development and create memorable experiences that build school spirit and community engagement.

Your Responsibilities

• Advise and mentor the student council officer team in planning, decision-making, and leadership development
• Supervise all student council meetings, activities, and events throughout the school year
• Support budget management and financial oversight for student council initiatives
• Coordinate with administration and other school departments to schedule and execute events
• Help develop student leaders and foster positive school culture and community involvement
• Ensure student council activities comply with district policies and school regulations
• Serve as the primary liaison between administration and the student council organization

Requirements

• Valid teaching certificate or education credential as required by Weld County School District Re3J
• Experience working with high school students and understanding adolescent development
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to lead meetings, facilitate group decision-making, and mentor young leaders
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, positive school culture and student engagement
• Willingness to attend and support student council events throughout the school year
