Jefferson City School District is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for a full-time position in Jefferson City, Cole County. In this role, you'll work directly with students and collaborate across our schools to build effective, evidence-based behavior supports that help our 9,000 students succeed both academically and socially.
About the Role
As a BCBA within our district, you'll provide expert consultation and direct support to students, families, and staff across our elementary, middle, high, and alternative schools. Reporting to the Special Programs Coordinator, this FLSA-exempt position combines clinical assessment work with systems-level consultation—you'll be a key member of our special education and student support teams, using applied behavior analysis to address behavioral and learning challenges.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive functional behavior assessments and develop individualized behavior intervention plans for students with complex behavioral needs
- Design and implement positive behavior supports, consulting directly with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure consistent, effective strategies
- Partner with special education teams on IEP meetings, contributing behavioral expertise to student planning and progress monitoring
- Train and coach educational staff on evidence-based behavior management techniques and classroom-wide positive behavior systems
- Collect, track, and analyze behavioral data to monitor intervention effectiveness and adjust plans as needed
- Develop and oversee district or building-level behavior initiatives that promote a supportive school environment
What You Bring
- Current Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential
- Solid grounding in applied behavior analysis principles and evidence-based intervention practices
- Experience in a school, educational program, or youth-serving organization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with diverse school teams
- Skill in behavioral data collection, analysis, and interpretation to guide evidence-based decisions
- Genuine commitment to supporting students across all ability levels and creating inclusive, respectful school communities
