The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced nursing leader to manage our evening shift postpartum unit. As Postpartum Nursing Manager, you will create a supportive, clinically rigorous environment where your team delivers high-quality care to mothers and newborns during a critical recovery period. This role combines hands-on clinical oversight with strategic team leadership, enabling you to influence both patient outcomes and staff professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee evening shift nursing operations and clinical staff on the postpartum unit
- Ensure patient safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance in all care delivery
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing team members through ongoing coaching and professional development
- Manage shift scheduling, staffing adjustments, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with physicians, other departments, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomes
- Monitor and drive quality improvement initiatives specific to postpartum services
- Address operational challenges, escalate clinical concerns, and problem-solve in real time
Skills & Qualifications
- Current RN license in Texas
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, with postpartum or women's health background preferred
- Prior leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience
- Strong clinical knowledge of postpartum nursing, maternal-infant care, and evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate nursing staff
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Commitment to patient safety, quality, and staff engagement
