About the Role
This position supports the collection, preparation, and storage of biological specimens while performing routine laboratory tests that contribute to ongoing neuroscience studies. The technician works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is eligible for benefits.
What You'll Do
- Collect and label biospecimens according to study protocols
- Process samples for downstream analysis, including centrifugation and aliquoting
- Maintain proper storage conditions and inventory tracking for specimens
- Conduct basic assays and prepare reagents under supervision
- Document all procedures accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and institutional biosafety standards
- Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with researchers, graduate students, and laboratory staff to meet project timelines
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a life science preferred
- Prior experience in a clinical, research, or laboratory setting handling biological samples
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written protocols precisely
- Basic proficiency with common lab equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, and microscopes
- Good organizational skills and reliable record‑keeping practices
