Sr. Portfolio Manager

FirstBank seeks an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager to lead loan portfolio operations and drive relationship manager success at our Nashville, Davidson County headquarters. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our clients and our team through strategic portfolio oversight and risk management expertise.

About the Role

As Senior Portfolio Manager at FirstBank, you'll partner with our relationship management team to strengthen loan portfolios and accelerate business growth. You'll work with independence and accountability, taking ownership of portfolio strategy, client relationships, and performance outcomes. Your expertise in risk assessment and portfolio optimization will help FirstBank maintain healthy loan performance while supporting our RMs in delivering exceptional client value.

Core Duties

• Evaluate and analyze loan portfolios to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
• Design and implement portfolio strategies that align with FirstBank's lending standards and business objectives
• Oversee all aspects of assigned portfolios, monitoring credit quality and performance metrics
• Assess credit risk through detailed due diligence and ongoing portfolio review
• Support relationship managers in portfolio growth initiatives and client development
• Prepare analysis and recommendations to optimize portfolio performance and profitability
• Collaborate across departments to ensure portfolio compliance and adherence to policy

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, credit analysis, or commercial lending
• Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, risk assessment, and loan portfolio evaluation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings to senior leadership
• Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
