About the Role

As a senior leader, you will report directly to ESPN’s senior management and partner with production, technology, and talent teams to deliver timely, accurate, and compelling news coverage. This is a full‑time position based at ESPN’s Bristol campus.

What You'll Do

• Define and execute the editorial strategy for ESPN News, aligning with broader company goals and audience insights.
• Oversee a multidisciplinary team of reporters, producers, editors, and digital journalists to ensure high‑quality breaking news, features, and analysis.
• Drive the integration of linear broadcasts with streaming platforms, social media, and mobile apps to maximize reach and engagement.
• Establish and maintain journalistic standards, fact‑checking protocols, and compliance with ESPN and Disney policies.
• Coordinate live event coverage, including major sports tournaments, press conferences, and breaking news situations.
• Manage budget, resource allocation, and talent development initiatives for the news division.
• Collaborate with ESPN’s sports programming, marketing, and affiliate relations teams to create cross‑platform storytelling opportunities.
• Represent ESPN News in industry forums, press briefings, and relationships with news agencies and sports leagues.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading news operations at a national sports network, major news organization, or comparable media enterprise.
• Deep understanding of sports journalism, broadcast production, and digital content distribution.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and mentoring high‑performing teams.
• Expertise in managing live news cycles, breaking news workflows, and multi‑platform delivery.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Familiarity with ESPN’s brand, Disney’s corporate values, and the evolving sports media landscape.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
