Resort Wide System Engineer Principal – Project Hire/Internal Assignment

The Walt Disney Company seeks a Resort Wide System Engineer Principal for a full-time position in Glendale, Los Angeles County. In this senior engineering role, you'll architect and oversee critical systems that support resort-wide operations across our theme parks and hospitality properties worldwide.

About the Role

As a Principal-level engineer, you'll take ownership of system design, integration, and optimization across multiple resort environments. Working within Walt Disney Imagineering — the creative and technical force behind every Disney theme park, resort, attraction, and cruise ship globally — you'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless operation of complex, interconnected systems. This project-focused assignment gives you the opportunity to drive technical excellence and architectural vision for initiatives that directly impact both guest experiences and operational performance across our properties.

What You'll Do

• Design and architect system solutions spanning resort-wide technology infrastructure and operational platforms
• Lead technical initiatives from conception through deployment, optimization, and continuous improvement
• Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, creative departments, and technology groups
• Ensure systems achieve scalability, reliability, and security across distributed resort environments
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams on architecture and best practices
• Identify and resolve complex system issues through root cause analysis and strategic improvements
• Document technical specifications, system architecture, and operational procedures for long-term maintainability

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of systems engineering, infrastructure, or platform architecture experience
• Demonstrated expertise designing, deploying, and managing large-scale distributed systems
• Strong foundation in system architecture, integration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and guide engineering teams
• Experience in hospitality, theme park operations, or large-venue environments preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
