As an OTR truck driver with U.S. Xpress - OTR, you'll operate a tractor-trailer combination hauling dry van cargo across the United States on long-haul routes. What You'll Do
- Drive tractor-trailer combinations across the country, primarily on established long-haul routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain detailed maintenance records
- Plan and optimize routes while strictly adhering to Department of Transportation and Hours of Service regulations
- Secure cargo properly, complete required documentation, and ensure safe transportation
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers regarding schedules and status updates
- Track mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle condition on daily logs
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 1 to 5 months of professional truck driving experience
- Working knowledge of commercial vehicle operation and safety protocols
- Ability to maintain focus and safety during extended driving shifts
- Dependable, professional approach to customer service and communication
Compensation
- Mileage-based pay starting at 57–64 cents per mile for solo drivers, depending on experience and performance
- Solo drivers average 2,000 miles per week with $4,000 new driver sign-on bonus
- Team driver options available with 5,000 miles per week average and $5,000 sign-on bonus (split between partners)
- Team starting pay of $0.72–$0.80 per mile (split)
- Top-performing drivers in our fleet earn up to $1,600 weekly
- Flexible home time scheduling to balance work and personal needs
