About the Role
This is a part-time, independent contractor position. You'll deliver customized Malay instruction to adult learners in the San Diego area who are working toward fluency for professional advancement, cultural connection, travel, or personal development. Your lessons will take place at clients' homes or workplaces, on a schedule you help establish.
What You'll Do
- Teach conversational and professional Malay to students at varying proficiency levels
- Create engaging, personalized lesson plans tailored to each learner's goals and pace
- Build vocabulary, grammar, and cultural competency in practical, real-world contexts
- Track student progress and adjust your teaching approach as needed
- Communicate clearly with students and Language Trainers about lesson outcomes and learner development
What We're Looking For
- Native or near-native fluency in Malay with excellent spoken and written command
- Demonstrated experience teaching Malay or another language to adult learners
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles
- Reliability and professionalism in scheduling and lesson delivery
- Flexibility to work part-time hours that fit your availability
