As a Part-Time Veterinarian with Heartstrings Pet Hospice in Chester County, Pennsylvania, you will support families during one of the most tender moments of pet ownership. This in-home role centers on hospice, palliative care, and peaceful euthanasia, allowing pets to remain in familiar surroundings while you guide owners with empathy and clinical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-home euthanasia and end-of-life hospice care guided by the values of Compassion, Dignity, and Respect.
- Travel to client homes across Chester County and nearby communities in Pennsylvania.
- Assess patient comfort, manage pain, and recommend appropriate palliative options.
- Counsel pet families through difficult decisions with patience and warmth.
- Coordinate aftercare services and maintain accurate, thoughtful medical records.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree.
- Active veterinary license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- A genuine devotion to comfort-focused and end-of-life care.
- Strong communication skills and emotional sensitivity when supporting grieving families.
- Reliable transportation for traveling to homes throughout the Chester County area.
