Manchester Memorial Hospital seeks an experienced Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant to join our inpatient team in New Britain, Hartford County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care to hospitalized patients across multiple inpatient units, leveraging your clinical expertise to optimize healing and improve quality of life.

About the Role

As a Wound Care APRN or Physician Assistant at Manchester Memorial Hospital, you'll serve as a clinical leader in wound management and continence care. Based at our New Britain location, you'll provide expert consultation to interdisciplinary teams, develop individualized patient care plans, and mentor clinicians in evidence-based practices. Your expertise will directly influence patient outcomes by preventing complications, accelerating recovery, and restoring function.

What You'll Do

  • Assess and manage complex wound conditions, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, and chronic non-healing wounds
  • Evaluate and treat ostomy-related complications; educate patients in self-care and adaptation strategies
  • Diagnose and manage continence disorders; implement preventive measures and therapeutic interventions
  • Conduct comprehensive skin and wound assessments using evidence-based clinical protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, physical therapists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care
  • Provide clinical consultation and patient/staff education to inpatient units throughout the hospital
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes to support quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of wound care standards and clinical best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) with APRN certification, or Master's degree qualifying for Physician Assistant practice; current Connecticut licensure
  • Clinical experience in wound, ostomy, and continence care or related specialty
  • Strong foundation in evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for complex wounds and continence conditions
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills
  • Patient-centered approach with commitment to delivering optimal outcomes
  • Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing certification (CWOCN) preferred
