Registered Nurse (RN, GN) – New Opportunity Medical Observation Unit

Hartford Hospital seeks compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Medical Observation Unit in Plymouth, Litchfield County, Connecticut. About the Role

You'll work in our Medical Observation Unit, where precision clinical judgment and genuine patient advocacy drive every shift. This part-time registered nurse position supports acute patient monitoring, early intervention, and discharge planning in a collaborative care environment. Weekend and holiday availability on a rotating schedule is part of the commitment we're looking for.

What You'll Do

• Monitor patient vital signs, condition changes, and clinical progress throughout each shift
• Assess patient needs and execute individualized care plans with attention to detail
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform clinical procedures per scope of practice
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Document clinical observations and patient responses with accuracy and timeliness
• Identify safety risks and participate in quality and safety initiatives
• Support patient education and preparation for next steps in care

What We're Looking For

• Active Connecticut nursing license as Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN)
• Clinical assessment ability and sound clinical judgment in fast-paced settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and healthcare teams
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
• Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and evidence-based care practices
