Working Student – Finance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential pharmaceutical technology organization in their search for a Working Student – Finance. Our client is at the forefront of applying artificial intelligence to drug discovery and development, working with leading industry partners across Europe.

This is a remote position based in Germany, offering flexible hours designed around your academic schedule. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience across accounts payable, receivable, expense management, payroll support, and audit preparation while working with an international team.

Responsibilities

• Process and record incoming invoices with accurate documentation and proper coding
• Manage payment cycles, monitor due dates, and follow up on outstanding invoices
• Reconcile accounts payable to maintain current financial records
• Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring policy compliance and accuracy
• Support monthly payroll cycles across multiple entities, checking trial payslips and flagging discrepancies
• Maintain payroll documentation and personnel files in accordance with audit and data protection standards
• Assist with audit preparation by compiling documentation and tracking open items
• Support preparation of audit data room materials
• Monitor shared finance inbox and route requests appropriately
• Contribute to finance process documentation and controls development
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools for process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a master's degree program in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (focus on Controlling, Accounting, or Treasury preferred)
• Previous practical finance experience through internships or vocational training is highly valued
• Strong analytical mindset with structured, solution-oriented approach
• Comfortable working independently and taking initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Curiosity and willingness to experiment with AI tools (prior experience is a plus but not required)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Clear communication style in both professional and collaborative contexts
• Fluent in both English and German
