The Opportunity

Unitek Learning is seeking an experienced Vocational Nursing Instructor to deliver engaging, practical instruction to vocational nursing students in our San Jose campus. As part-time faculty teaching daytime hours, you'll have the flexibility to maintain professional practice while making a direct impact on students preparing for careers in patient care. This role combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical training, preparing students for the NCLEX-PN licensing examination and real-world nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with vocational nursing program standards
• Instruct students in foundational nursing theory, patient care techniques, pharmacology, and clinical skills
• Supervise and assess students during laboratory and clinical practicum experiences
• Evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, and clinical evaluations
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and attendance
• Collaborate with program leadership to ensure curriculum quality and compliance with accreditation requirements
• Mentor students and support their academic and professional development

What We're Looking For

• Valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license or equivalent credential
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse student populations
• Ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment
• Flexibility and commitment to part-time daytime instruction in the San Jose area
• Teaching experience or formal education training preferred
