UX Designer

About the Role

You'll design intuitive, engaging user interfaces and experiences for Cengage Group's learning platforms and digital products. Your work directly impacts millions of learners, helping them navigate educational content and tools that support their success. You'll collaborate across product, engineering, and learning science teams to ensure every interaction serves student needs.

What You'll Do

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and detailed design specifications for web and mobile learning applications
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and identify improvement opportunities
• Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries for consistency across products
• Design accessible, responsive interfaces that work seamlessly across devices and screen sizes
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to refine designs during development and iteration
• Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices across the organization

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional UX design experience, ideally in edtech, SaaS, or consumer digital products
• Portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design, visual design, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms
• Solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility standards (WCAG), and usability best practices
• Experience with user research methods and translating insights into design decisions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams
• Degree in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
