About the Role
This is a full-time position based in the Bellevue area of Sarpy County, Nebraska. As a Utility Locate Technician, you'll use specialized equipment to precisely mark and locate electric lines, natural gas pipes, water mains, telecommunications cables, and other subsurface utilities. Your work ensures that excavation crews, construction teams, and contractors can operate safely without damaging essential infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Respond to utility locate requests from construction sites, utility companies, and the general public
- Operate electronic locate equipment to identify underground utility lines with accuracy
- Mark utility locations with paint, flags, or other appropriate markers
- Document findings and maintain detailed records of all locate work performed
- Follow safety protocols and OSHA regulations at job sites
- Communicate effectively with excavation crews and other on-site personnel
- Travel to various job sites throughout the Bellevue and Sarpy County region
What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Physical capability to perform manual labor and outdoor work
- Willingness to obtain One-Call certification and other required credentials
- Reliable transportation to job sites
