About the Role
This is a full-time, over-the-road truck driving position with U.S. Xpress - OTR serving regional and long-distance freight hauling. You'll operate a commercial truck handling dry van cargo, traveling across the country on a standard schedule of 12 days out followed by 2 days home. The role offers predictable mileage (averaging 2,000 miles per week for solo drivers) and a guaranteed minimum weekly income to provide financial stability in your trucking career.
What You'll Do
- Operate a commercial truck transporting dry van freight on multi-state over-the-road routes
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards on every haul
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical readiness
- Manage logbooks accurately and track hours of service within regulatory limits
- Communicate with dispatchers and customers throughout your routes
- Deliver freight safely and on schedule while maintaining professional standards
What We're Looking For
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record
- 1 to 5 months of over-the-road trucking experience
- Ability to work independently and manage time during extended road assignments
- Commitment to DOT compliance, vehicle maintenance, and safe driving practices
- Reliable, professional demeanor with strong communication skills
- Willingness to work a 12-out/2-home schedule
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive pay: 57–64 cents per mile (CPM) based on your experience level
- $4,000 sign-on bonus for new solo drivers
- Guaranteed weekly minimum of $1,500
- Top performers in the top 20% earn up to $1,650 per week
- Team driver option with $5,000 sign-on bonus (split) and $0.72–$0.80 CPM
- Steady routes averaging 2,000 miles per week for solo drivers
