Tree Trimmer (Top Climber)

WSC is hiring a full-time Tree Trimmer (Top Climber) at 2 Locations. In this role, you'll combine advanced climbing techniques with precision tree care to deliver professional arboriculture services to residential and commercial clients, working at height to safely trim, prune, and remove trees.

Role Overview

As a Tree Trimmer (Top Climber), you'll master the technical discipline of working aloft to maintain and remove trees. Your expertise in rope climbing, hazard assessment, and safe tree removal will be essential to delivering high-quality results while protecting property and preserving tree health. This position requires focus, technical skill, and a commitment to safety at every height.

Core Duties

• Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and specialized climbing equipment to access and work on branches and limbs at height
• Operate chainsaws and forestry hand tools to trim, prune, fell, and remove tree branches and full trees
• Assess tree structure, health status, and potential hazards before and during climbing work
• Remove dead, diseased, damaged, and hazardous branches and fallen trees safely
• Clear, load, and haul debris from job sites to maintain clean and safe work environments
• Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards, company protocols, and personal protective equipment requirements
• Maintain climbing equipment, chainsaws, and hand tools in safe working condition
• Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and quality outcomes

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Physical fitness and ability to work safely and effectively at significant heights
• Climbing experience, climbing certification, or willingness to obtain required climbing credentials
• Competence with chainsaws and forestry tools
• Understanding of tree biology, arboriculture practices, and safety principles
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass background screening and safety clearances
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within a team environment
