Traveling General Superintendent- Aviation

J.E. Dunn Construction Company is hiring a Traveling General Superintendent for Aviation construction projects based in the Garden, Chatham County area. This is a full-time, travel-intensive leadership role overseeing complex aviation facility construction across multiple project sites nationwide.

As a Traveling General Superintendent in Aviation construction, you'll lead field operations for major airport and aviation infrastructure projects. Your expertise will direct teams through all phases of construction, from mobilization through final closeout, on fast-paced projects that demand excellence and precision. J.E. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all on-site construction activities, managing labor, equipment, and materials to meet schedule and quality standards
• Lead subcontractors and trade partners, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and project specifications
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to communicate progress, address challenges, and maintain stakeholder alignment
• Conduct daily inspections and quality control measures to ensure work meets contract requirements and regulatory standards
• Manage project documentation, permits, and regulatory compliance specific to aviation construction
• Develop and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget
• Travel to assigned project sites as needed throughout the assignment period

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Superintendent or equivalent role in heavy construction, preferably aviation or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of construction management, scheduling, safety regulations, and OSHA compliance
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively to project sites
• High school diploma or equivalent; construction management degree or relevant certifications preferred
