About the Role
Aya Healthcare seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to staff our assignment in the Akron area. You'll operate advanced magnetic resonance imaging systems, execute complex imaging protocols, and deliver high-quality diagnostic results in a fast-paced clinical setting. This is a travel position suited for professionals seeking flexible contracts, variety in their career, and the opportunity to impact patient care across different healthcare environments.
What You'll Do
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, verify safety contraindications, and explain imaging processes to reduce anxiety
- Operate MRI equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer specifications
- Position and immobilize patients using appropriate anatomical landmarks and imaging techniques
- Monitor patient vital signs and comfort throughout procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and imaging documentation
- Follow strict safety, radiation safety, and infection control protocols
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and clinical teams to meet diagnostic imaging needs
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as required
What We're Looking For
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in MRI or equivalent state licensure
- Proven clinical experience operating MRI systems in hospital or imaging center settings
- Strong understanding of MRI physics, safety protocols, and contrast media administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in team environments
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift patients safely during extended shifts
- Flexibility and adaptability to rotating 3-day, 12-hour shift schedules
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for clinical assignments
