Technology Risk & Controls Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Technology Risk & Controls Manager. Our talent team is working directly with the client to identify an experienced risk professional who will serve as a strategic partner to their Technology function.

This role sits within the Controls function and reports to the Head of Controls. You will be integral to delivering First Line of Defence capability, partnering with Technology stakeholders to embed the Risk Management Framework across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Technology teams to embed the Risk Management Framework, including policies and procedures
• Provide expert input into the design and operation of the technology control framework, including data management
• Support the vendor management framework, developing and embedding controls to ensure effective management of third-party vendors in line with regulatory requirements
• Test existing and new key controls in line with agreed schedules, informing the non-financial risk profile and required management actions
• Support the operational resilience programme with a focus on technology resilience, feeding into scenario planning and testing
• Coordinate and facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and administration of annual RCSA refresh
• Support capital calculation for Operational Risk as part of ICAAP, including scenario analysis
• Maintain risk information in risk systems, ensuring risk events and issues are appropriately raised and managed
• Assemble quantitative and qualitative input into First Line Risk Reporting and conduct deep dive reviews into areas of thematic risk
• Deputise as required at meetings for the Head of Controls

What We're Looking For

• 10-12 years of experience in operational risk management, RCSA administration, and ICAAP compliance with deep expertise in internal controls
• Strong risk knowledge and experience including RCSAs, Controls and Risk Libraries, risk event reporting
• Expertise in technology control frameworks and vendor management standards
• Proven experience developing and overseeing vendor risk management frameworks including third-party risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, and compliance
• Hands-on experience of assurance and monitoring of risks and controls across non-financial risk disciplines
• Knowledge of ISO27001 and SOC2 type controls (advantageous)
• Knowledge of relevant non-financial risk regulatory requirements, particularly on Operational Resilience and Outsourcing (desirable)
• Strong written and presentation skills, with experience communicating across different levels of seniority
• Ability to provide constructive challenge and work effectively as a team player
• Willing to be hands-on and able to adapt quickly to workflow demands while maintaining focus on results and deadlines
