Founding Creative Director

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-moving AI technology client in their search for a Founding Creative Director based in London. This is not a traditional design management role—you will personally own and ship creative work while setting the taste bar for an entire company entering a high-visibility growth phase.

Our client builds intelligent automation platforms for customer experience teams at consumer brands. They are preparing to launch multiple products in quick succession and need someone whose creative judgment becomes the standard everyone else is measured against.

Responsibilities

• Own creative direction across all product launches—narrative, positioning, and visual execution
• Ship landing pages, launch videos, pitch decks, and social creative personally during year one
• Establish and evolve the design system from version three forward
• Serve as final arbiter on all creative work that carries the company name
• Build a small internal creative team (2-3 people across design, motion, and content) over time
• Approach design as strategic positioning, not decoration—defining how products are understood, not just how they look

What We're Looking For

• Proven creative ownership: You have been the final decision-maker on creative direction before, whether in-house or at an agency. Portfolio evidence of taste you can defend with specificity.
• Narrative and positioning strength: You think about design as strategy and arrive with formed opinions on how a brand should be positioned.
• AI-fluent maker: You already use AI tools in your workflow and have built something (app, prototype, mockup) demonstrating comfort with emerging technology. Anti-AI perspectives disqualify.
• Technical ambition: Willingness to become hands-on enough to ship a landing page yourself within a year.
• Range that travels: Background in SaaS, fashion, editorial, consumer brand, or art direction—what matters is whether your taste holds up in new contexts.
• Comfort shipping in chaos: Multiple launches in flight simultaneously, feedback cycles measured in hours not weeks, minimal process friction.
• High standards under speed: You cannot ship mediocre work but you also will not let perfection kill momentum.

Pay

Compensation details including salary range and equity will be shared by our recruiters during screening.
