Technicien Qualité (Quality Technician)

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization based in Orly, France. Our client is seeking a Quality Technician to join their Paris-area operations team. This is a hands-on role supporting quality assurance across prototype development, manufacturing, and customer delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality support during prototype assembly, ensuring builds comply with drawings, work instructions, and specifications
• Identify and document non-conforming parts; support corrective actions alongside engineering teams
• Help define inspection methods and acceptance criteria for new components
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) on development parts; prepare and maintain FAI reports with full traceability
• Manage quality gate checkpoints for development units, verifying each unit meets criteria before advancing to the next phase
• Maintain quality gate records and provide visibility into product status and blocking issues
• Escalate recurring defects to Quality Engineering and Design for resolution
• Participate in after-sales support activities, including on-site inspection and product sorting at customer locations when necessary
• Perform visual and dimensional checks to identify non-conforming units, isolate defective products, and document findings
• Act as the quality representative on-site, liaising between the customer and internal teams to resolve quality issues effectively
• Report field observations back to the development center to drive corrective actions and product improvement
• Ensure inspection and non-conformance reports are properly documented in appropriate tools (Jira, Confluence, or QMS)
• Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes and quality gate criteria

What We're Looking For

• Technical diploma in quality, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or related field
• Previous experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing quality role, ideally in aerospace, defense, or high-tech sectors
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) processes is a plus
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and EN 9100 standards
• Meticulous, rigorous, and comfortable working in a workshop environment
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Good level of English; willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
