About the Role

As a Teacher, Middle Art with Spring Independent School District, you will deliver the district's instructional program and uphold its educational philosophy within the art subject area. Reporting directly to the campus Principal, you will create an engaging learning environment that nurtures artistic skill, critical thinking, and self-expression. This is an exempt, full-time role based in Houston, Harris County, on a 187-day contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach a standards-aligned middle school art curriculum that reflects district expectations.
• Put the district's instructional program and educational philosophy into practice in the designated subject area.
• Design lessons that build students' technical abilities and encourage creative problem-solving.
• Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom that supports student growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with families to support each learner.

Qualifications

• Appropriate Texas teaching certification for middle school art, as required by the district.
• Knowledge of art instruction and developmentally appropriate teaching practices for middle grades.
