About the Role
As a School Bus Driver with First Student, you become a daily part of students' lives in Prattsburgh, New York. Your mornings begin with picking up students and getting them to class on time, and your afternoons are spent returning them safely home. The position is part-time, with the potential for additional hours when field trips and special events call for extra transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport students safely between designated stops and the Prattsburgh Central School District schools each morning and afternoon.
- Maintain a calm, orderly, and welcoming environment for riders throughout each route.
- Follow all assigned routes, schedules, and traffic laws while prioritizing passenger safety.
- Conduct routine safety checks of your vehicle before and after every shift.
- Support field trips and special event transportation when additional hours become available.
Qualifications
- A commitment to the safety and well-being of every student on board.
- Reliability and strong attention to schedules, routes, and timing.
- Patience, a positive attitude, and clear communication with students and staff.
- Willingness to complete any required driver training and certification provided by First Student.
