About the Role

We're seeking an experienced food service professional to join our district in a structured leadership development position. You'll work alongside our current Director of Food Service for approximately one school year, gaining direct operational knowledge before assuming full directorship responsibilities. This is an ideal opportunity for a food service leader ready to step into a director-level role with comprehensive on-the-job training and organizational support.

What You'll Do

• Partner with the current Director of Food Services to oversee all aspects of district food service operations, including meal preparation, service, and inventory management across school sites
• Learn and eventually manage budget planning, vendor relationships, and food purchasing for school meals programs
• Ensure compliance with state and federal nutrition standards, food safety regulations, and health department requirements
• Support supervision of food service staff and participate in training, scheduling, and professional development
• Assist in menu planning and development aligned with student nutrition needs and dietary accommodations
• Contribute to continuous improvement of meal quality, service efficiency, and customer satisfaction

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in food service management, school nutrition, or large-scale food operations
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices, nutrition standards, and kitchen operations
• Proven leadership ability and experience supervising food service or kitchen staff
• Understanding of school food service regulations, reimbursement programs, and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to manage budgets, purchase orders, and vendor relationships effectively
