About the Role

As a Sales and Use Tax Manager within EY's Indirect Tax practice, you will guide clients through the intricacies of transaction-based taxation across jurisdictions. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, you'll combine technical expertise with leadership, advising businesses on compliance, planning, and risk while developing the next generation of tax professionals. This is a full-time, on-site role within a continually evolving tax function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee sales and use tax engagements, ensuring accurate compliance and timely delivery for a portfolio of clients.
• Advise organizations on indirect tax exposure, planning opportunities, and process improvements.
• Research and interpret multistate sales and use tax legislation, applying it to client-specific scenarios.
• Manage, coach, and mentor team members, fostering technical growth and high-quality outcomes.
• Build and strengthen client relationships while identifying ways to add ongoing value.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in indirect tax, with a focus on sales and use tax within a professional services or corporate environment.
• Strong command of multistate tax concepts and the ability to apply them to real-world transactions.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities, including mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and client-service skills.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; relevant certification such as a CPA is typically expected for a manager-level role.
