About the Role
This internship sits within Cubist Systematic Strategies, an affiliate of Point72 that builds computer‑driven trading models across equities, futures, and other liquid asset classes. You will work alongside experienced researchers to support the development and testing of systematic strategies.
What You'll Do
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing market data for research projects.
- Help implement and backtest quantitative models using Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate model performance and identify improvement areas.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to interpret results and refine trading signals.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and findings in clear technical reports.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, or engineering.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python or C++, with experience using data analysis libraries.
- Solid foundation in probability, statistics, and linear algebra; familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a keen interest in financial markets and systematic trading.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas effectively in a team environment.
