About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential hospitality client in Berlin—a successful crêperie in Prenzlauer Berg that has built a strong local following and is ready to scale. Our client is looking for a Store Manager who doesn't just run day-to-day operations, but who wants to shape what comes next.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll manage a team of approximately 8 people, oversee a seven-day operation, and work directly with the founders to build systems, drive revenue, and maintain the quality standards that have earned nearly 700 Google reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of ~8 staff members—onboarding, feedback, scheduling, and performance management
• Plan rotas and holidays for a venue open seven days a week
• Ensure smooth daily operations from opening to close, including peak service periods
• Manage supplier relationships, place orders, and conduct inventory checks
• Maintain hygiene, HACCP compliance, and workplace safety standards
• Act as host—build relationships with regulars, respond to guest feedback, and manage online reputation
• Work on the floor regularly as part of daily operations
• Monitor and improve key metrics: food cost, labor percentage, sales performance
• Build scalable processes that support future growth
• Recruit, train, and set standards for new team members
• Develop delivery channels (Wolt, Lieferando, Uber Eats)
• Contribute ideas and implement improvements across the business
• Support special events and maintain product quality across food, coffee, and service

What We're Looking For

• Experience in hospitality, café, bakery, or food retail—ideally with some leadership responsibility (shift lead level is acceptable if you have the drive to grow)
• Comfort with numbers: food cost, labor cost, and revenue management
• Experience building schedules and coordinating staff
• Ability to stay calm and organized when team members call in sick, orders stack up, and the venue is busy
• Leadership style that balances structure and empathy—clarity over pressure
• Self-starter mentality: you see what needs doing and take action
• Passion for quality food, coffee, and excellent service
• Strong German and English language skills
• Willingness to work early, late, and weekend shifts
• Valid health certificate (§ 43 IfSG) or willingness to obtain one before starting

You don't need: a hospitality degree, ten years in chain restaurants, or a flawless CV. Our client started from scratch themselves.
