Staff Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Staff Software Engineer based in Paris. Our client is a rapidly scaling technology company operating in the customer communications space, backed by leading investors and serving thousands of companies globally.

This is a high-impact technical leadership role where you will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineering teams, and lead complex cross-functional initiatives. You'll work with modern cloud-native technologies and contribute to products that directly impact how businesses communicate with their customers at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead transversal, complex projects autonomously from ideation to completion, starting from high-level problem statements
• Proactively communicate technical vision across multiple teams, ensuring alignment and sharing knowledge across domains
• Act as a go-to technical expert, providing mentorship and guidance across engineering teams
• Deeply understand multiple product domains and proactively identify improvements while advocating for customer needs
• Lead and define technical strategies for complex, impactful problems affecting the broader organization
• Set and uphold quality standards and drive adoption of best practices in architecture, security, and DevOps
• Write production-ready code and participate in software design discussions with a security-first mindset
• Contribute to performance optimization and system reliability across distributed services

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of back-end development experience using TypeScript & Node.js, Python, Ruby/Rails, or similar languages
• Proven track record of delivering secure, scalable, highly available systems across multiple domains
• Strong expertise in system design and defining technical strategies to solve complex, impactful problems
• Experience leading development of complex projects affecting multiple teams and domains from ideation to completion
• Expert at identifying opportunities for new impactful technical initiatives
• Deep understanding of multiple product domains with ability to anticipate long-term technical needs
• Effective and proactive communication skills with ability to collaborate across different roles and profiles
• Experience with modern tech stacks including REST/GraphQL APIs, AWS or similar cloud platforms, PostgreSQL, Redis, and related technologies
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new technical challenges
