We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to join their borrowing domain. This is a high-impact technical leadership role where you'll architect data systems at scale, design production-grade data products, and shape how an entire organization builds and uses data.

Our client operates multiple lending products across various geographies, supported by 1,700+ data models and a growing analytics engineering function. They're in the midst of a major data architecture transformation and need an experienced engineer to help navigate complexity, establish best practices, and build the next generation of data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architect the borrowing data layer at scale, partnering across analytics engineering, product, engineering, credit, and data platform teams to structure 1,700+ models across 12+ products with consistent, trusted patterns
• Design and govern data products by moving beyond ad-hoc tables toward well-defined, contractual data assets with clear ownership, SLAs, documentation, and interfaces consumable by analytics, ML, decisioning, and regulatory teams
• Build feature stores and reusable analytical assets by identifying cross-product signals (credit behavior, repayment patterns, affordability, risk indicators) that can be modeled once and consumed by multiple teams
• Scale analytics engineering infrastructure by shaping tooling, patterns, and developer experience for an 80+ person credit and data organization, influencing data architecture and working with central platform teams on ingestion, streaming, and schema design
• Drive cross-product data consistency across geographies and product lines, defining shared conventions and abstractions that enable coherent analysis across the entire borrowing domain
• Serve as senior technical partner for the data estate, collaborating with backend engineers on source data design, product managers on measurement strategy, credit teams on decisioning data, and leadership on strategic direction
• Lead through influence and leverage by setting patterns, unblocking architectural decisions, reviewing designs, and raising standards across the analytics engineering organization

What We're Looking For

• Systems thinking ability to design data architectures spanning multiple products or domains, turning ambiguous problems into clear technical direction and delivery sequences
• Experience building data products with governance, documentation, versioning, discoverability, and trust—not just tables, including defining SLAs, contracts, interfaces, and ownership models
• Deep fluency with analytics engineering systems: dbt at scale, BigQuery or equivalent cloud data warehouses, CI/CD for data, testing frameworks, and orchestration tools
• Track record designing reusable feature layers that serve multiple consumers including ML pipelines, dashboards, decisioning engines, and regulatory reporting
• Comfort working at the platform boundary, engaging productively with data platform engineers about ingestion patterns, streaming vs. batch trade-offs, schema evolution, and infrastructure costs
• Ability to connect technical choices to business outcomes, understanding how product, credit, engineering, and operational teams use data
• Leadership through others, creating leverage by setting patterns and raising standards rather than individual contribution, energized by making teams more effective
• Communication skills across different audiences, able to whiteboard architectures with engineers and present strategic roadmaps to directors
• Interest in credit products and the complexity of lending, including risk, affordability, regulatory constraints, and multi-product dynamics
