Sr. Claims Specialist – G/L

Philadelphia Insurance Companies is seeking a Sr. Claims Specialist - G/L to join our Naperville, DuPage County office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to manage and resolve complex general liability claims for a nationally recognized commercial insurance provider.

About the Role

As Sr. Claims Specialist - General Liability, you'll play a crucial role in our claims operations team. You'll handle the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of general liability claims while maintaining our commitment to thorough, fair, and timely claim management. Your expertise will directly impact both our claimants' experiences and our company's underwriting insights.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Investigate and process general liability claims from initial report through final resolution
• Evaluate insurance coverage, policy terms, and liability exposure for assigned claims
• Review relevant documentation including medical records, incident reports, and witness statements
• Communicate professionally with claimants, policyholders, attorneys, and third parties
• Establish and manage claim reserves based on thorough damage assessment and liability analysis
• Coordinate with medical professionals, defense counsel, and field adjusters as needed
• Maintain accurate, organized claim files and documentation systems
• Apply sound judgment to complex liability issues and unusual claim situations

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of claims investigation or general liability claims handling experience
• Strong working knowledge of general liability insurance coverage and policy language
• Proven ability to investigate claims thoroughly and make sound coverage decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously
• Proficiency with claims management systems and standard office software
• Solid understanding of liability law and insurance regulations
• Professional certification such as AIC or CPCU preferred
