SPIRE Dean of Students

Join Spire Academy as a full-time Dean of Students in Unionville, Ashtabula County. We're seeking an experienced education leader to develop and oversee our student support and discipline systems, working directly with our Head of School to create a thriving school culture.

About This Position

The Dean of Students role is central to Spire Academy's mission of fostering a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Reporting to the Head of School, you'll lead all aspects of student conduct, discipline, attendance, and behavioral support. This is a full-time position designed for an educational leader committed to student success both in and out of the classroom. You'll work closely with faculty, families, and community partners to ensure consistent, fair, and developmentally appropriate student support practices.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive student discipline and conduct policies aligned with school values
• Support and supervise student attendance, ensuring families and staff work together to promote regular engagement
• Lead student welfare and safety initiatives, responding to behavioral concerns and coordinating appropriate interventions
• Partner with classroom teachers and counselors to identify students needing academic or social-emotional support
• Oversee detention, restorative practices, and other discipline programs that promote student growth
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress, concerns, and achievements
• Foster a positive school culture through school-wide events, recognition programs, and community engagement

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in education, school administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
• Current teaching license or administrative certification in Ohio or ability to obtain
• 3+ years of experience in education, including direct work with students in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of student development, trauma-informed practices, and restorative justice approaches
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with students, families, and staff
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and creating an inclusive school environment
