Ryder is seeking an experienced Over-the-Road CDL-A Truck Driver to join our team at our Palmyra, Lincoln County location. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation, sign-on incentives, and flexible scheduling for professional drivers ready to build a rewarding career in transportation.
About the Role
As an OTR CDL-A Truck Driver with Ryder, you'll operate commercial vehicles across designated routes, managing freight safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations and company safety standards.
Compensation & Benefits
- Weekly pay of $1,700 based on performance and mileage
- $4,000 sign-on bonus upon hire
- Solo mileage rate of $0.59 per mile, with typical weekly miles ranging from 2,000 to 2,500
- Stop-based compensation: $16.37 per stop plus $107.56 per dry van unload
- Rolling stops paid at $28.20
- Loyalty bonuses of $2,000 at the 6-month milestone
- Predictable home time and work schedule
What You'll Do
- Operate Class 8 commercial vehicles safely across multiple states and diverse terrain
- Manage 8-10 stops per week on average, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings accurately
- Maintain detailed logbooks and comply with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays
- Keep your vehicle clean and well-maintained throughout each route
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with air brake endorsement
- Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience
- Clean driving record and current DOT medical certification
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions
- Excellent time management and professional communication skills
