About the Role

As a Local CDL-A Truck Driver with Ryder, you'll transport freight on established routes throughout the Burlington area, maintaining a schedule that keeps you home every evening. This role combines the independence of professional truck driving with the stability of local operations—no overnight stays on the road.

What You'll Do

• Operate commercial vehicles safely on assigned local routes
• Deliver freight and cargo according to delivery schedules and customer requirements
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
• Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation
• Follow all Department of Transportation and safety regulations
• Communicate with dispatch regarding route progress and any issues
• Ensure cargo security and proper load securement

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
• Minimum 1 year of commercial truck driving experience
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety practices
• Strong mechanical aptitude and vehicle maintenance awareness
• Professional communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work Monday through Thursday schedule
• Willingness to pass background check and drug screening
