About the Role

As a Senior Field Technician with the BioWatch Program, you'll serve on the frontlines of environmental surveillance and public health monitoring. What You'll Do

  • Conduct environmental monitoring activities and field-based scientific studies in support of the BioWatch Program
  • Collect and document environmental samples according to established protocols
  • Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting in field conditions
  • Maintain detailed field records and prepare technical reports on monitoring activities
  • Support public health preparedness and emergency response operations as needed
  • Collaborate with City departments, public health agencies, and technical teams

What We're Looking For

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Environmental Science, Public Health, Homeland Security, Electrical Technology, or a related field; or
  • 30 hours of college credits in science, public health, homeland security, or a related discipline, combined with two years of professional experience in environmental monitoring, field-based studies, public health preparedness, or emergency response
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation
  • Physical capability to perform field work in varied weather and environmental conditions
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work in El Paso and surrounding areas
