About the Role
As a Social Studies Teacher/Possible Coach (RJH) with Rice CISD, you will design and deliver engaging instruction in the social studies content area at Rice Junior High. Reporting to the campus Principal, this exempt position centers on guiding students toward their full intellectual, emotional, physical, and social potential. A coaching assignment may also accompany the teaching role.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead meaningful learning activities that build student competency in social studies.
- Create experiences that support each student's intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development.
- Assess progress and adapt instruction so every learner can reach their potential.
- Foster a positive, well-managed classroom environment that encourages participation and growth.
- Take on a possible coaching assignment to mentor and develop student-athletes, as needed.
Qualifications
- Appropriate Texas teaching certification for social studies at the junior high level.
- Strong subject-matter knowledge of social studies and the ability to translate it into accessible lessons.
- Skill in motivating and managing junior high students in a classroom setting.
- Willingness to take on a coaching role where applicable.
- Availability for a full-time, on-site schedule at Rice Junior High.
