Service Technician II

About the Role

This Service Technician II role is essential to our daily operations. You'll be responsible for the technical upkeep of our student housing facilities, working to prevent problems before they start and solving maintenance challenges as they arise. Your work directly affects resident satisfaction and our property's long-term value. You'll coordinate with management staff and potentially work with outside contractors, always maintaining professional standards and safety protocols.

What You'll Do

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical components, and major appliances
• Respond to maintenance work orders from residents and staff in a timely, professional manner
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs or arrange for specialized contractors when needed
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and materials used in the property management system
• Maintain compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company maintenance standards
• Support move-in and move-out inspections, minor renovations, and community improvement projects
• Keep common areas, grounds, and building exteriors clean, functional, and visually appealing

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational certification a plus
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a maintenance or service technician role
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical systems
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities and professional demeanor with residents and team members
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete tasks reliably
