Senior Software Engineer – Search Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a high-growth SaaS client seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their search platform team in Paris. Our client is building cloud-based distributed systems that handle massive scale—processing billions of search requests and working with complex data infrastructure.

This role offers flexibility: you can work remotely, hybrid, or office-based in Paris. You'll be part of a distributed engineering team solving challenging problems in search architecture, indexing, and distributed systems at internet scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core search and indexing infrastructure components
• Maintain operational excellence for production search systems, including participation in on-call rotation
• Ensure system quality, reliability, and performance across distributed architecture
• Collaborate with remote team members across different time zones and skill sets
• Share expertise on distributed systems design patterns and best practices
• Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve high-impact production issues

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Proven track record designing and operating distributed systems in production environments
• Experience working with large datasets and high-traffic systems
• Strong commitment to code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience working in high-growth technology companies ($50-200M revenue range)

Nice to Have:

• Go programming language experience
• Kubernetes expertise
• Site Reliability Engineering background or mindset
