Senior Software Engineer – Search Infrastructure

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Search Infrastructure team in Paris. Our client operates cloud-based search technology at massive scale, and this role will focus on building and maintaining distributed systems that power AI-enhanced search capabilities combining keyword and vector search.

The team works in a fully remote-friendly environment with engineers distributed globally, and you'll have flexibility to work remotely, hybrid, or from the Paris office.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core search infrastructure components for a large-scale distributed system
• Take ownership of operational excellence including participation in an out-of-hours on-call rotation
• Ensure system quality, reliability, and soundness across distributed components
• Share expertise on distributed systems architecture and best practices with the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve high-impact production issues
• Build and maintain systems that orchestrate index building, data storage, and query processing

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems in production environments
• Hands-on experience working with large datasets and high-traffic systems
• Strong commitment to code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices
• Excellent spoken and written English skills
• Experience working in high-growth environments with significant scale challenges

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Go programming language
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Background in Site Reliability Engineering practices
