Senior Site Reliability Engineer (x/f/m)

Responsibilities

We are representing a fast-growing healthtech organization seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their platform engineering team in Berlin. In this role, you will ensure platform reliability, scalability, and resilience across a complex multi-application environment serving healthcare professionals and patients across Europe.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code at scale, focusing on consistency, reliability, and developer experience across 170+ applications
• Identifying and leading large-scale cross-cutting reliability initiatives, including improvements to incident detection, response, and postmortem analysis capabilities
• Designing, building, and improving infrastructure components that support reliability, scalability, and observability across the platform
• Defining and driving SLOs, error budgets, and alerting standards across multiple product teams
• Participating in on-call rotation and actively contributing to improving the on-call experience by reducing noise and ensuring actionable telemetry
• Partnering with software engineering teams to embed reliability practices early in the development lifecycle

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of solid hands-on experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role within a large-scale, multi-team production environment
• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies; Kubernetes expertise is essential, including deployment and scaling strategies
• Experience working closely with software engineering teams to co-design reliable systems
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform, applied in real production contexts
• Experience managing on-call rotations and leading incident response in high-stakes environments
• Experience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Helm)
• Comfort with at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, Ruby) for automation
• Fluency in English

Beneficial experience:

• Implementation and operation of SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets in production
• Working in regulated environments such as healthcare or fintech where data privacy and compliance are paramount
• Focus on reliability enablement, golden paths, runbooks, and shared libraries

Tech stack: Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, ArgoCD

Position details: Permanent, full-time role based in Berlin with hybrid work setup (up to 2 remote days per week)
