About the Role
As a Senior Paralegal, Real Estate at Dechert, you will partner closely with attorneys while also managing significant workstreams on your own. The role centers on the due diligence backbone of commercial real estate deals — reviewing title, survey, and zoning documentation and translating it into clear, actionable guidance for the deal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine commercial real estate title commitments, survey drawings, and zoning materials for accuracy and risk.
- Draft and circulate title comment memoranda that summarize findings for attorneys and clients.
- Liaise with title companies, surveyors, and zoning consultants to resolve open items and obtain required documentation.
- Track diligence progress across active matters and keep the practice group informed of outstanding issues.
- Work both collaboratively with attorneys and independently to move transactions forward.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated paralegal experience supporting commercial real estate or finance transactions.
- Strong working knowledge of title review, surveys, and zoning analysis.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise title comment memos.
- Confidence coordinating with outside vendors such as title companies, surveyors, and zoning consultants.
- Self-directed organization and the judgment to manage priorities with limited supervision.
