About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician you will help keep the Housing Hub’s properties safe, functional, and welcoming for residents. The role combines hands‑on repair work with preventive maintenance to protect building systems and reduce unexpected issues.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine inspections of apartments, common areas, and building exteriors
- Respond promptly to resident work orders for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, lubrication, and equipment testing
- Troubleshoot and fix appliances, fixtures, and building components
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and parts used
- Assist with seasonal preparations including snow removal and lawn care
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialized trades are required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and local housing codes
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade
- Solid understanding of residential plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and follow technical manuals
- Basic carpentry, painting, and drywall repair skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Saint Paul site
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work comfortably on ladders or in confined spaces
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail
- Good communication skills for interacting with residents and team members
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean living environment
