Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Video AI

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential medical technology organization in München that is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to focus on video AI applications. In this role, you will:

• Develop and deploy machine learning applications that analyze video and sensor data to improve surgical workflows and enable intelligent assistance tools
• Work on learning-based solutions for medical data analysis tasks, with particular focus on surgical video processing including event detection, image segmentation, and object detection
• Participate in all phases of the machine learning development lifecycle, from requirements engineering and data processing through experimentation, model development, training, and deployment
• Collaborate closely with software developers and ML engineers to build scalable services that extract meaningful insights from complex medical data
• Shape the development and productization of AI-based video solutions for medical use cases
• Push the boundaries of intelligent software components for surgical procedure analysis, leveraging ever-increasing volumes of video data

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, natural sciences, or similar background
• 3+ years of professional experience applying modern machine learning methods and computer vision approaches to challenging image processing problems
• Demonstrated experience developing complex software systems in Python and/or other programming languages
• Experience with state-of-the-art ML tooling including experiment management, containerization, orchestration, processing pipelines, and data version control
• Proven track record from industrial projects or PhD work in a relevant area
• Knowledge of cloud-based computing environments (AWS experience is a plus)
• Experience working on AI-based products in the medical technology industry is a plus
• Creative problem-solving abilities and capacity for independent, self-directed work
