Senior Software Engineer – Data

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization based in München that is building advanced data infrastructure to support medical software development. Our talent team is searching for a Senior Software Engineer - Data to help design and scale data platforms that enable automated testing and evaluation using large-scale medical datasets.

This is a hybrid role based in München, offering the opportunity to work on meaningful healthcare technology challenges while collaborating with an international team of engineers and data professionals.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms and architectures
• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data
• Build, deploy, and manage data storage systems and databases
• Develop, optimize, and enforce data quality, lineage, compliance, and security controls across the system
• Write services for data ingestion, access, and processing
• Collaborate with data analysts to support reporting, analytics, and machine learning use cases
• Document data models, processes, architectures, and best practices
• Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture alongside talented team members

What We're Looking For

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong experience in data engineering and modern data platform development
• Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data engineering best practices
• Hands-on experience with Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, and/or Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Experience with modern software development practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and GitHub Actions
• Experience building and operating cloud-based solutions, ideally on AWS
• Familiarity with healthcare standards such as FHIR or DICOM is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and pragmatic approach
• Collaborative mindset with excellent teamwork skills and passion for continuous learning
• Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage
